1. Undergroundartchannel_Vol.2  Proclamation

The Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 is an extended version of Underground Art Channel, which started Jan. 2005, and seeks a critical alternative of the web-casting based on critical attitudes toward cultural power, absoluteness of the mainstream arts, nepotism, exclusiveness, the absence of honest self-criticism and self-centeredness.

I wish the Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 to be an open channel through which the existence of cultural mainstream Is accepted and the artists In the periphery are assisted In many different ways.

The Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 covers minor experimental Imaginations and all kinds of non-mainstream art spirits beyond the social status of non-mainstream artists defined by the mainstream artists.

The Underground Arts Channel Vol. 2 does not pursue cultural powers and does not accept the stereotypical elements of mainstream arts such as blacklists.

The Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 does not judge artists based on any other elements except artifacts of the artists and their artifacts are communicated, estimated, analyzed and reproduced by many art lovers through the channel.

It Is an Imagined experimental space where artistic relations are continuously reshaped and redefined. The Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 rejects mainstreaming technological process, technological non-Identity and Incomprehension of the theorists; and aspires and assists technological diversity, experimental spirits and analysis.

The Underground Art Channel Vol. 2 rejects the popular styles of relations, visual & hearing sensation and structures. And It pursues an underground communication with open structures based on underground spirits.

Suk Sungsuk, Director of the Underground Art Channel(www.undergroundartchannel.net) June. 1, 2006
